Watts, born 28 September 1968 was a British actress. When her family moved to
Australia Watts made her film debut with For Love Alone (1986). Then she
appeared in three television shows: Hey Dad.. (1990) and Brides of Christ(91),
as well as Home and Away (91) as well as Flirting (1991). Watts relocated to
America in 2000. Her first experience was a struggle as an actress. In
actuality, she was only able to fill small roles in films before becoming an
actress of the future in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological thriller.
This role started her rise to fame internationally. Watts was later a gruelling
journalist in the horror remake The Ring (2002). Her portrayal of the mother
grieving in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated her for the Academy
Award. Her star power increased when she appeared in I Heart Huckabees (2004).
King Kong (2006), Eastern Promises ((2007)) and The International (2009). For
her performance as Maria Bennett in the disaster film The Impossible (2012),
Watts got another Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In the decade of
2010, Watts played in films like Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent
(2015), While We're Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018).
Watts also continued to play in blockbusters, and made appearances in the
Divergent franchise (2015-2016).
