Summer Bishil Bio

Summer Bishil was a Pasadena, California native. At the age of three, she left California and old, her family moved to America. Summer attended British as well as American schools during the time her family moved abroad. she returned home to her hometown town of Pasadena just shy of her 14th birthday. Attracted by the idea of acting since the age of five, Summer took her first acting class at 14. Nine months later, Summer signed with an agent and an manager and began to pursue her dream full-time. She is enrolled in college in weekends, and works towards her degree. She was among the stars of the future featured in Vanity fair's August 2008 cover article, "Hollywood’s New Wave: Hollywood's Most Hot Kids in Hollywood". At the age of 14 years old, Bishil began acting lessons. Within an entire year, she was contracted to an agent and a manager. Bishil began her career as a character on the Nickelodeon television show Just for Kicks. After that she was signed to an agreement with a management and an agency. Her first big break was in the film of Alan Ball, Towelhead. It's an adaptation of the book of the same title. Dana Stevens, a Slate critic, wrote that "Her performance in a film that , despite its noble intentions seems completely fake, mildly embarrassing, and as if it were an extended PSA regarding inappropriate touching is the truthful thing." Bob Strauss, who writes for a variety of Los Angeles newspapers, states that Bishil, "...is one of the most natural film actresses to emerge in recent times." Gary Goldstein, in a September 12, Los Angeles Times, review of Towelhead noted that Summer Bishil ("...newcomer) provides a compelling and stunning performance as Jasira. She filmed Wayne Kramer's Crossing Over project in 2009 and starred Harrison Ford and Ray Liotta. Jay Reiner of the Associated Press liked her portrayal. She was picked to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan’s 2010 film The Last Airbender. This was to be the primary storyline of the planned yet unproduced sequel.
