Yvonne Joyce Craig

Yvonne Joyce Craig (May 16 1936 - - August 17 15th, 2015), was an American actress, ballet dancer and choreographer. Her most famous work is for her character in Batman's 1960s TV series Batman and Marta, an Orion slave girl with green skin in the Star Trek 1969 episode "Whom Gods Destruction". The Huffington Post called her "a pioneer in female superheroes for television." Yvonne Craig was born in Taylorville, Illinois, and was raised in Columbus, Ohio. In 1951, her family relocated to the Oak Cliff neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, where she went to W. H. Adamson High School and then Sunset High School, from which she didn't graduate due to the lack of "a single PE credit". After being discovered by Alexandra Danilova, a ballerina and instructor, Craig joined the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo as the youngest member of the corps de ballet. This was a great training for her in her stunt work while playing Batgirl. In the year 1957, she quit the company "over disagreements over changes to casting". Then, she moved to Los Angeles in hopes of being able to continue her career in dance. However, she was soon cast in film roles. One of her first TV performances was in the TV series Perry Mason ("The Case of the Lazy Lover") in 1958 alongside Neil Hamilton. Hamilton later played Batgirl's stepfather, Police Commissioner James Gordon. In the following years, she was in three films - The Young Land, The Gene Krupa Story The Gene Krupa Story, and Gidget (all 1959)--and was also a guest in the TV series Mr. Lucky as Beverly Mills in the episode "Little Miss Wow" (also 1959). Craig appeared in films with Bing Crosby (1960), and Seven Women from Hell (1961), which featured Cesar Romero. In 1962, she appeared as an actress on Western Laramie's episode "The Long Road Back". Craig also starred with Elvis Presley's roles in It Happened At the World's Fair (1963), and Kissin Cousins (64). She also appeared as a Russian dancer with James Coburn in Mars Needs Women (1966).

  Amy Poehler, born September 16, 1971 was an American actress, comedian, and writer. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and Improv Olympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade.
