Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia, but she returned to Scotland and began to perform on stage during The Edinburgh Festival. At 16 she relocated to London and soon got involved in indie filmmaking. (Her first pay-per-view on The Acid House was as an actor with Irvine Welsh (1998)). She's also participated in theater as both an actress as well as a director. In 2004, she moved to Los Angeles to direct "The Woolgatherer" an original play which Anne Dudek (a regular guest on Mad Men (2007)/Big Love (2006)) was the director. It received great reviews. Her first US film role was "Stacy", the manipulative and reborn Christian who appeared in Headspace (2005). Her first movie role was in Headspace (2005) as the manipulative, born-again Christian "Thumper Wint". This comedy was written by Heathers (1988). Exam (2009) in which was her first film with in London and LA followed. Awarded a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Debut and winner at the Santa Barbara Film Fest of Best Independent, Pollyanna's performance was "smart and sassy, in equal parts the heart of the movie" and her ability to see the "emotional vulnerability" of her strong and sassy character. GQ only stated that Pollyanna McIntosh was a gorgeous actress and an "extraordinarily gifted actor". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ) is a funny South American farce in which she is Brit actor Trevor Lock's disgruntled wife. Shot in Peru the film is a comedy that she speaks Spanish throughout. In Burke and Hare (2010) directed by John Landis, she plays Isla Fisher's best friend along with Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson and Tim Curry. Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) was a huge success. It received rave reviews and even topped the New York Times readers' favourite movies poll. She was awarded three Best Actress Awards, including Total Film's Frightfest Award, and Fright Meter's.
