Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer with Irish heritage, was a well-known figure. The fiery, passionate characters she appeared in range of American films were loved by the green-eyed beauty with fiery hair and flaming eyes. Her beautiful and glamour was much appreciated and she was popularly known as the 'Queen of Technicolor' in Hollywood. The roles she played on screen were a reflection of her brave, strong character. She fought for respect and survival in the male-dominated world. She always described herself as the "tough Irish lass" who would never compromise with her respect or reputation to land the roles she was entitled to through merit. Throughout her career in the field of film, she always stood up against discrimination and unfair treatment against female actors. For this, she gained lots of admirers. Her autobiography, 'Tis Sheself", which was released in 2004, provided an honest and authentic about her life experiences including her struggles as she climbed the ladder of success. She was an active woman who did not hesitate to performing her own stunts. She appeared as an actress in more than 60 films throughout the years and enjoyed a lot of fame internationally. After she left Parra the couple got married Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. He was a brigadier in the past and chief pilot, and was an innovator in transatlantic aviation. A few years into their marriage, she decided to end her retirement. Blair however, was killed in a tragic plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's joy was only temporary. In the same year she was diagnosed with being a victim of uterine cancer, and was required undergo surgery immediately. She was able to recover eventually. She suffered six heart attacks, a short-term memory loss as well as diabetes type 2 in the following years. O'Hara aged 95, peacefully died in Boise on 24 October 2015.
