Markie Post

Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She began her career as a film and TV producer, including "The New Card Sharks", (1978) and "Card Sharks," (1986). She continued to produce projects such as Double Dare (1976), and appeared on various TV shows, including E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman (2000). Perhaps her greatest TV performance was "Christine Sullivan" on Night Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992 she played in 156 episodes. Marylee (Armstrong) Post is her daughter. She was a poet as well as a noted nuclear physicist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 to April 7, 2015). Two daughters, Katie Ross (born June 26 1987), and Daisy Ross (born on March 30, 1990), were her second wedding to Michael A. Ross. Born in Palo Alto, California, and grew up in Walnut Creek, California. As an athletics coach, she attended Las Lomas High school in Walnut Creek. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon. She was part of the trick roping team in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). Her ashes were returned home to Michael A. Ross, her husband. She was a lifelong Democrat. Markie Post died three months after her 71st Birthday on August 7 2021. She died 27 days after Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984) co-star, who died on July 11, 2021. Even though the shows were not connected, Night Court (1984) was the final show to end with Christine Sullivan's character leaving for Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) started with Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in Hearts Afire (1992), and she later relocated into a smaller town after her time in Washington DC.
